Elie Baup says that he is happy with the balance of his Marseille side following a busy transfer window.

Marseille manager Elie Baup is happy with the balance of his squad having spent over £30m during the transfer window.

Les Phoceens brought in a number of new players, including Dimitri Payet and Florian Thauvin, and were the biggest spenders in Ligue 1 behind Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco.

However, having secured automatic qualification to the Champions League with a second-placed finish last season, Baup believes that his squad has the perfect balance of players.

"If we were able to spend money, it is because we are in good financial health," Baup told reporters. "Last year, when I arrived, we lost players and didn't replace them. This year it is different. I am very satisfied with the composition of our squad.

"There is a balance throughout. The idea was to have options on the sidelines and players for every position. I have solutions everywhere. In terms of dynamic, there is also a balance between youth and experience. For me, that is great."

Marseille currently sit second in the Ligue 1 table.
