Mexico fire coach Jose Manuel de la Torre

Mexico sack Jose Manuel de la Torre after last night's 2-1 loss to Honduras and replace him with Luis Fernando Tena.

Jose Manuel de la Torre has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the Mexican national team.

The decision was taken by the Mexican Federation following yesterday's defeat to Honduras, which has seen La Verde drop out of the automatic qualification places for next year's World Cup in Brazil.

He has been replaced by Luis Fernando Tena, who will take charge of the Central American country for the first time on Tuesday night against the USA.

Mexico need to win that encounter to keep their chances of reaching the World Cup in their hands.
