Middlesbrough see off Hastings United

Middlesbrough are through to the next round of the FA Cup following their 4-1 win over Hastings United.

Middlesbrough have brought Hastings United's FA Cup run to an end with a 4-1 win at the Riverside Stadium.

The hosts were given the chance to open the scoring in the 15th minute, when the referee pointed to the spot after Jamie Crellin had brought down Ishmael Miller.

The big striker picked himself up to take the kick, but Liam O'Brien saved well to keep the scores level.

However, the reprieve did not last long as Marouane Zemmama found the net from 25 yards out seven minutes later.

Andy Halliday bagged Boro's second of the game just after the half-time interval, before Zemmama notched his second of the game with just over 20 minutes remaining.

The visiting fans were given something to celebrate thanks to Bradley Goldburg's spectacular strike, but Miller's second of the game rounded off a comfortable victory for Tony Mowbray's men.
