Aitor Karanka happy with Middlesbrough squad

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka insists that he is happy with the players at his disposal following transfer deadline day.

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka has insisted that he is happy with his squad following the end of the summer transfer window.

The Championship club have signed 10 new players on loan and permanent deals in recent weeks.

With over £16m spent by the Teesiders, Karanka believes that he has a strong group at his disposal until the next window opens in January.

"I like to be focused on training and games, but you can't forget the transfer window and you have to be ready," he told Boro's official website. "That's your job, but I have good staff and really good people supporting me and that makes things easier.

"Fortunately everything is finished now. We have got an amazing squad with good players. I am really pleased and looking forward."

Middlesbrough continue their Championship campaign on September 12 when they welcome MK Dons to the Riverside Stadium.
