Tony Mowbray expresses mixed emotions following draw

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray reacts to his team's 2-2 draw at Wigan Athletic.

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has expressed mixed emotions following his side's 2-2 draw at Wigan Athletic.

The Boro boss drew plenty of positives from the match, but believes that his team should have taken maximum points.

"On the balance of the game we're very disappointed - I genuinely can't remember a Jason Steele save and yet I've just been talking to Scott Carson and he made six or seven pretty decent saves," he told the club's official site.

"It looks on paper a difficult fixture and yet we came and did what we'll do all year, try to take the sting out of them and then play ourselves. There are plenty of positives and I've got to mention the fantastic following who came. I'm sure they saw enough to think we'll have a decent season.

"We have to keep going. If we can get the points against Sheffield Wednesday on our last game before the international break then our points tally will be okay."

Boro led with 14 minutes remaining, but a late Jordi Gomez free kick rescued a point for the Lattics.
