Mark Beevers ruled out for up to eight weeks

Millwall defender Mark Beevers is sidelined for up to eight weeks with a knee injury.

Millwall defender Mark Beevers has been ruled out for up to eight weeks with a knee injury.

The 23-year-old suffered ligament damage during Saturday's 1-0 win at Charlton Athletic in the Championship.

"It's obviously a blow for us and for Mark at a time when we appear to be turning a corner," manager Steve Lomas told the club's official website.

"Fortunately surgery doesn't appear to be necessary but we are resigned to being without him for the next few weeks."

Millwall continue their Championship campaign on Saturday when they entertain Leeds United.
