Neil Harris not interested in Millwall job on permanent basis

Neil Harris says that he will not put himself forward for the Millwall job and will return to his role as Under-21 manager.

Neil Harris has revealed that he does not want the vacant Millwall job on a permanent basis.

The former Lions striker is currently the caretaker boss following the sacking of Steve Lomas as manager.

However, Harris insists that he will return to manage the club's Under-21 team as soon as a new boss is appointed by the board.

"I could be here for one game, three games or six games," the Daily Star quotes Harris as saying.

"But it's just for the short term. I'm the Under-21 manager here and that's my role. We are trying to keep things ticking over and improve things slightly, ready for when the new guy comes in.

"While the board and chairman want me to do this and help out, I'm committed to doing that."

Millwall play Doncaster Rovers on Sunday.
