Newcastle United's Jack Colback 'facing weeks on the sidelines with leg injury'

Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback is reportedly expected to be on the sidelines for a number of weeks after suffering a leg injury.

Newcastle United reportedly fear that Jack Colback will be on the treatment table for some time after suffering a leg injury in last weekend's Wear-Tyne derby.

The 26-year-old ended up leaving the Stadium of Light on crutches after he was injured by Lee Cattermole in Sunday's 3-0 defeat to Sunderland.

According to The Shields Gazette, Colback has undergone a scan and there are concerns that the ex-Sunderland player will be out of action for a few weeks.

Steve McClaren's side have managed just one victory in 10 Premier League games.
