Newcastle United midfielder Jonas Gutierrez has thanked the club's fans for their support during a turbulent campaign that saw him given the all-clear from testicular cancer.
Gutierrez returned to action for the side back in February and scored the winning goal as the Magpies beat West Ham United 2-0 on Sunday to secure their Premier League status.
The midfielder posted on Twitter: "Thanks newcastle fans proud to be a Geordie the best for all in the future. This city deserve premiere league football."

Gutierrez, who is expected to leave the club this summer, spoke of the "second chance" he felt that he had been given after overcoming the illness earlier this year.
