Steve McClaren has revealed that he is hopeful of naming his new coaching team at Newcastle United by next week.
The former England boss took over at St James' Park earlier this month, replacing interim manager John Carver who was shown the exit following last season's collapse.
McClaren worked alongside Eric Steele and Paul Simpson at Derby County, but he has yet to put in place his new backroom staff at Newcastle.
"I'm looking for the best," he told BBC Sport. "It can be difficult because good people are always working elsewhere. No doubt though, I want my team in by next week, with a good week to 10 days to prepare."
The Magpies, who finished 15th in the Premier League in 2014-15, report back for pre-season training on July 1.
