Paul Dummett: 'I'm happy playing any position for Newcastle United'

Newcastle United defender Paul Dummett admits that he is happy to play "whatever position" new head coach Steve McClaren wants him to play.

Paul Dummett has insisted that he is happy to play "whatever position" in order to help Newcastle United.

The Wales international was used as a left-back, centre-half and occasionally in midfield during the Magpies' 2014-15 campaign, making 29 appearances in all competitions.

The 23-year-old told the club's website: "I don't mind where I play. As long as I'm playing and doing a job for the team in whatever position the head coach wants me to play, then I'll play that role.

"I didn't play as many games as I would have liked to because of the injury, but when I was fit I was selected for most of the games that I was available, so for me that was a confidence booster."

Newcastle recently appointed former Derby County manager Steve McClaren as their new head coach after parting company with John Carver at the end of the season.
