Newcastle United's Alan Pardew aiming for victory over Norwich City

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew says the club must beat Norwich City this weekend to capitalise on their recent winning run.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has said that the club have a "great opportunity" to move further up the table when they host Norwich City on Saturday.

The Magpies won their last two games against Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur before the international break and Pardew is keen for his team to carry on their recent good form this weekend.

"We've got ourselves in a poised position - now we need to capitalise on that, something we've not done well in the last 18 months," he told the club's official website.

"If we win we can put ourselves right in the mix. For us, it's a great opportunity and we don't want to pass on those opportunities. They don't come around very often in the Premier League.

"We've got a home game against a side that are off the back of a win. If we get ourselves in a good place with 50,000 - I expect a full house on Saturday - that's going to make a big advantage and we need to make sure we carry that through."

Newcastle United are currently ninth in the Premier League table, with 17 points from their first 11 games.
