Alan Pardew admits that Newcastle have no excuses not to get a result at Swansea.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has said that his side have "no excuse" not to get a result ahead of their trip to Wales.

The Magpies take on high-flying Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium later today as they aim to keep the pressure on Chelsea in the hunt for fifth place.

"We know our fans are making a hell of a trip," he told the Evening Chronicle. "That won't go unmentioned in the changing room.

"We have to make sure we deliver something for them. We couldn't be in better shape for the game. We have no excuse – we go there to win.

"If we can steal the ball, we can hurt them fast. That's what we need to do against Swansea."

Newcastle can leapfrog Chelsea in the Premier League table with a win.
