Alan Pardew: 'We must start winning'

Alan Pardew says that his Newcastle United team need to start winning quickly, starting with today's game against Norwich City.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has said that his team must start "putting some points on the board" as they slip towards the Premier League relegation zone.

The Magpies have taken just three points from a possible 18 since beating Wigan Athletic at the start of December and lie just two points above 18th-placed Latics.

Pardew, who signed an eight-year contract at St James' Park this year, takes his team to Carrow Road to face Norwich City today, and said that his team must start winning quickly.

"It's a tough place to go and they are on a tricky run themselves," Pardew told reporters.

"Someone will end up with a really good day and hopefully it's us.

"We really need to get some momentum, for our fans who we really let down last week. We have to give a really good account of ourselves at Norwich and start putting some points on the board."

Newcastle have not won away from home all season.
