Team News: Mathieu Debuchy makes Newcastle United bow

Mathieu Debuchy makes his Newcastle debut against Norwich at Carrow Road after completing his £5m transfer from French side Lille.

Alan Pardew has handed a debut to new signing Mathieu Debuchy for Newcastle United's trip to Norwich City this afternoon.

The France international moved to St James' Park in a £5m switch from Lillie last week and sat in the stands during their 2-1 defeat to Everton.

Speculation has surrounded Fabricio Coloccini's future on Tyneside this week but the Argentine skippers Newcastle at Carrow Road.

His compatriot Jonas Gutierrez is fit to return to a starting lineup that also welcomes back Papiss Cisse, Sylvain Marveaux and Tim Krul after the trio were rested for the FA Cup loss at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Yohan Cabaye has been absent since November with a groin injury but is fit to be named among the Magpies' substitutes.

Grant Holt has recovered from a hamstring strain to take his place on the home bench, with Simeon Jackson leading the Norwich line.

After ringing the changes for their victory over Peterborough United last Saturday, Chris Hughton has largely reverted to his strongest available lineup.

Bradley Johnson is preferred to Jonny Howson in midfield, while Javier Garrido returns at left-back in place of Ryan Bennett.

Norwich: Bunn; R Martin, Bassong, Turner, Garrido; Pilkington, Johnson, Tettey, Snodgrass, Hoolahan; Jackson

Newcastle: Krul; Debuchy, Williamson, Coloccini, Santon; Perch, Anita; Obertan, Marveaux, Gutierrez; Cisse
