Alan Pardew has reportedly been told to plan for Newcastle United's 2013-14 season following a meeting with club owner Mike Ashley.
There were suggestions that the 51-year-old could be shown the door at St James' Park following the club's dismal campaign, where they lingered just above the relegation zone.
Despite these reports, it is understood that following talks with Ashley and managing director Derek Llambias, Pardew has been given assurances that his job is safe, according to the Irish Independent.
Pardew signed an eight-year contract with the Magpies last September.
