Moussa Sissoko pleased with goal

Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko admitted that he was pleased with his winning goal against West Bromwich Albion.

Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has admitted that he was pleased with his goal against West Bromwich Albion last night.

The Magpies moved up to fifth place in the Premier League after their 2-1 win over West Brom.

Sissoko secured all three points for Alan Pardew's side with a stunning strike and, while he was happy with the goal, he spoke of the importance of the wider team.

"I have been waiting a while for it. Now I am off the mark and I will continue to work hard, mostly to make sure I can keep putting in some great performances on the pitch," Sissoko told reporters. "Goals, when they come along, are always welcome, or the odd assist if I can get them in as well.

"But the most important thing is the win. It doesn't matter who scores. As a team, we win together, we lose together.

"If we score a goal, it's always a goal together. We all have the same objectives we are working towards."

Newcastle face Swansea City in their next fixture on Wednesday night.
