Joey Barton has revealed that he is having a medical with Queens Park Rangers.
Talks between the Newcastle United midfielder and the London club have progressed throughout the day (Wednesday), and the 28-year-old has written on his Twitter account that he is closer to finalising a move to the newly-promoted side.
"Going for a medical now, still no contract offer from NUFC.......think that just about makes my mind up," he said.
"Don't want to leave Newcastle........I've made that clear but my hands are tied."
Barton fell out of favour with the Newcastle United board and coaching staff after criticising the club's transfer dealings via the social networking site.
