Loic Remy has hinted that he would be happy to make a January switch to Newcastle United.
With the future of Demba Ba uncertain, Sky Sports reports that the Magpies will make an approach for the France international.
It is thought that Remy is keen to play in England and that lining up alongside Newcastle's strong French contingent also appeals to him.
When asked about Newcastle, Remy said: "They are a very good team.
"They are a big club with good players, very good fans and nice stadium that is always full."
The 25-year-old was quick to point out that nothing has been decided and it is simply speculation at this stage.
He continued: "The window opens in January and there will be speculation from now until the window closes. If I have to leave then all parties must be happy.
"I have a contract so let's wait and see what happens."
Newcastle's next match is at home to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
