Report: Newcastle United eyeing up Nice forward Alassane Plea

Newcastle United reportedly want to bring in Alassane Plea from Ligue 1 side Nice, but could face competition from Everton and Burnley.

Newcastle United are eyeing up Nice forward Alassane Plea to kickstart their summer spending, according to a report.

The 25-year-old netted 11 goals in 25 Ligue 1 outings last term to help his side to a third-place finish, which he has added to with 13 in 30 this time around.

Calciomercato suggests that the £15m-rated ace is on Newcastle's radar, although competition could be provided by Premier League rivals Burnley and Everton.

Plea, who can play through the middle or out on the left, has netted seven goals in his last four outings, including four against Guingamp last month.

United have also previously been tipped to sign Valon Berisha from Red Bull Salzburg, but their interest is since said to have cooled.
