Moussa Sissoko plays down Newcastle United exit talk

Newcastle United star Moussa Sissoko plays down reports linking him with a switch away from St James' Park.

Moussa Sissoko has distanced himself from reports linking him with a move away from Newcastle United.

The France international midfielder has been a reported target for Arsenal and admitted that he has designs on playing in the Champions League.

However, the Magpies man said that he sees no reason why he can't play in Europe's premier competition with his current club.

GetFrenchFootball quotes Sissoko as saying: "I want to keep progressing and enjoy myself on the pitch. I want to play Champions League, with Newcastle if possible.

"For me today, I am a Newcastle player and Newcastle is in my head. I want to play in the big competitions and at the moment I am not able to do that. Why not play Champions League with Newcastle?"

The 25-year-old joined Newcastle in 2013.
