Gennaro Gattuso 'ready to commit suicide' if found guilty of match-fixing

Former Italy and AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso denies match-fixing allegations and says that he would kill himself if found guilty.

Former Italy midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has insisted that he has never been involved in match-fixing and said he would kill himself if found guilty.

Gattuso, along with former Milan and Lazio player Cristian Brocchi, is under investigation as part of a match-fixing probe.

The pair were allegedly involved in a betting ring which fixed Serie A and lower division games during the 2011-12 season.

Gattuso told SkySport 24: "I am ready to go to a public square and kill myself, because life would no longer be worth living."

According to investigators Brocchi and Gattuso had telephone contact with four people arrested on Monday as a result of the 'Last Bet' operation, an investigation into sporting fraud established in 2010 and which has already led to 54 arrests.
