Norwich City's Alex Tettey likely to miss rest of the season with ankle injury

Norwich City midfielder Alex Tettey is likely to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

Norwich City manager Alex Neil has confirmed that midfielder Alex Tettey is likely to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

The Norwegian was immediately taken to hospital after being substituted in the first half of the Canaries' 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday night.

It was soon feared that the midfielder would have a lengthy spell on the sidelines and it has been confirmed by Neil that Tettey is unlikely to return before the end of the season.

Neil told Norwich City TV that Tettey is scheduled to undergo ankle surgery in the coming days.

Norwich are currently in the bottom three of the Premier League table because of a worse goal difference than Sunderland.
