Norwich City manager Neil Adams has blasted his team following Tuesday's 4-0 thrashing by Middlesbrough in the Championship.
The Canaries had the chance to go back to the top of the table at the Riverside Stadium, but they instead slipped down to seventh place with a comprehensive defeat.
Adams admits that his players deserved to be on the wrong end of such a heavy result against their promotion rivals.
"I am disappointed. We got what we deserved. It was not good enough at all and was surprising," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "We thought we could cause Middlesbrough problems. We started okay but the manner of the goals we conceded were not good enough.
"This is the most disappointed I have been. It's the worst performance I have seen. It's a heavy defeat and there are not positives."
Norwich return to action on Saturday when they make the trip to Nottingham Forest.
