Nigerian attacker Victor Moses scores after the restart to rescue a point for struggling Wigan Athletic at Norwich City.

A second-half strike courtesy of Victor Moses rescued a point for Wigan Athletic from their trip to Norwich City this afternoon.

The hosting Canaries started the brighter of the two teams and made their domination count in in the tenth minute. Simeon Jackson crossed for Wes Hoolahan, who got in front of Gary Caldwell to lift the ball over Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi.

Wigan's response was positive, but they were unable to find a route past goalkeeper John Ruddy. The Norwich keeper was on hand to deny efforts from Hugo Rodallega and Jean Beausejour as the half drew to a close.

The introduction of Shaun Maloney after the break made a difference for the visitors, who drew themselves level in the 68th minute. The Scotland international threaded a pass beyond the Norwich defence for Moses, who rounded Ruddy and turned the ball into an empty net.

Another substitute, Mohamed Diame, had a good chance to grab a second for Wigan, but he shot over from eight yards out following a cut back from Maloney.

The home side also had an opportunity to win the match late on, but Al Habsi produced an acrobatic save to thwart Steve Morison's downward header.

The draw was not enough to lift Wigan off the bottom of the Premier League table.
