Billy Sharp salvages point for Nottingham Forest

Alex McLeish's first game in charge of Nottingham Forest ends in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.

The visitors made the better start and took the lead through Glenn Murray after nine minutes.

The forward got on the end of Dean Moxey's cross to slot home right-footed past Lee Camp in the Forest goal.

The hosts nearly drew level when Sharp headed against Julian Speroni's crossbar.

However, the home fans did not have to wait long for the equaliser, as Andy Reid's 20-yard effort ensured that the teams went in level at the break.

Both teams had chances to take the lead in the second half, but neither did until Murray notched his second of the game in the 82nd minute.

The forward took this season's tally to 22 goals with a looping header from Jermaine Easter's cross.

The scoring was not finished, though, as Sharp pounced late on to snatch a point for the hosts.
