Adam Nawalka signs new Poland deal

Adam Nawalka signs a new contract to remain in charge of Poland, with the 58-year-old's fresh deal due to run until 2018.

Adam Nawalka has signed a new contract to remain in charge of the Polish national team.

The 58-year-old, who took charge of Poland in October 2013, guided his team to the quarter-finals of Euro 2016, where they lost in a penalty shootout to Portugal.

It had been claimed that Nawalka would stand down following their elimination, but his new contract keeps him in charge of the national team until the end of their World Cup 2018 qualification campaign.

Poland will begin their process to qualify for the competition in Russia with a Group E clash against Kazakhstan on September 4.

Denmark, Armenia, Montenegro and Romania are also in the same qualification group.
