Portsmouth hearing in April

The High Court will rule on Portsmouth and the club's stadium's future on either April 10 or April 11.

The date for the High Court hearing that will finalise the future of Portsmouth has been set.

Pompey administrators PKF will get to know the future of the League One outfit on either April 10 or April 11 when the decision to release former owner Balram Chainrai's fixed charge on Fratton Park and sell the stadium will be made.

Chainrai claims that Portsmouth owe him £12m and is holding the stadium as security through his company Portpin.

"The administrators of Portsmouth Football Club (2010) Ltd can confirm that the court case to determine a possible sale of Fratton Park to the PST will begin on either Wednesday, April 10 or Thursday, 11," reads a statement on the club's official website.

"As is often the case in such situations, we are unlikely to get confirmation of the exact date from the court until a few days prior to the hearing."

If the decision is made in favour of the administrators, then the Pompey Supporters' Trust will be able to carry on with their takeover of the club.

Portsmouth, who have been in administration since February 17, 2012, are a reported £61m in debt.
