Portsmouth manager Guy Whittingham has conceded that his team's slow start cost them following Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Oldham Athletic in League One.
Jose Baxter's goal was the difference between the two sides at Boundary Park as Pompey saw their winless run stretched to 22 games.
"It was only after they scored that the players started doing what they were supposed to do, so the slow start has cost us," Whittingham told Sky Sports News.
Bottom-placed Portsmouth finished the game with 10 men after Sam Sodje had been sent off for violent conduct early in the second half.
