Paris Saint-Germain midfielder David Beckham has declared that he is pleased to be back playing at the highest level after starting in tonight's 2-2 draw with Barcelona.
Beckham played 70 minutes in a dramatic quarter-final first leg, which saw Blaise Matuidi equalise with the last kick of the game.
The 37-year-old believes that he is still capable of performing against the best in Europe and is proud of being trusted with the role by Carlo Ancelotti.
He told ITV Sport: "I think we deserved a draw tonight, it was always going to be a game where they had a lot of possession. I think in the first 10 minutes we had some good chances but then obviously they got there goal.
"The manager showed a lot of confidence in me and I was happy to start. I was only at Milan three years ago and think I'm still at the same level.
"I'm just happy to be part of these special nights again and we'll go there thinking there is no reason why we can't get a result."
PSG will be without Matuidi at Camp Nou in the second leg after his booking tonight triggered a one-match suspension.
