David Luiz: 'Paris Saint-Germain ready to face anybody'

PSG defender David Luiz insists that his side are ready for anyone in the quarter-finals of the Champions League following their 4-2 aggregate win over Chelsea.

Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz has insisted that his side are ready to take on any opponent in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The French giants booked their place in the last eight of the competition for the fourth season in a row with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this evening, sealing a 4-2 aggregate triumph.

However, they have been knocked out in the quarter-finals in each of the last three campaigns, and Luiz insists that they will not be getting ahead of themselves this season.

"It was a difficult game for us. [Chelsea] played very well, especially in the first half, but we never change our philosophy to play football. We like to play with the ball, with possession to try to create some gaps to score, and I'm very happy for our game," the former Chelsea man told BT Sport.

"I think it was a collective victory because everybody knows to play here against Chelsea is always difficult. Everybody had the experience to keep calm because they always put the pressure on here.

"We try our best every single match. We are ready to play against anybody. But we keep our feet on the floor with humility, working hard and try to make the best plan to qualify for the semi-final."

Chelsea striker Diego Costa scored his side's goal and was a threat throughout before being forced off on the hour mark through injury, and Luiz admitted that he found it "difficult" to contain the Spain international.

"Diego is a fantastic player, it's always difficult to play against him, but I think we played very well, very consistent, and we've qualified and we're happy," he added.

PSG join Real Madrid, Benfica and Wolfsburg as the four teams to have qualified for the quarter-finals so far.
