Laurent Blanc: 'Thiago Motta back for Lens match'

PSG manager Laurent Blanc reveals that Thiago Motta will return from his calf injury in their Ligue 1 match with Lens, ahead of the Champions League trip to Chelsea.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc has revealed that Thiago Motta will return from his calf strain in Saturday's Ligue 1 match against Lens.

The Brazilian midfielder has missed the French champions' last six games, but will get a run-out at the Parc des Princes ahead of the trip to Chelsea in midweek.

PSG will travel to Stamford Bridge locked at 1-1 with the Blues in their Champions League last-16 tie.

Blanc is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "We bring back Thiago Motta who is over his calf injury. He hasn't played for three weeks, so we will see how he gets on. He is a very important player for our philosophy.

"He took a blow to the calf against Lyon which didn't prevent him from playing against Nantes and it was against Nantes that he got injured."

Motta has made 27 appearances for the Parisians in all competitions this season.
