Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including PSG vs. Marseille

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Ligue 1 fixtures, including PSG vs. Marseille.

Nice vs. Lorient (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Nice head into Sunday's fixture with Lorient looking to end a run of four games without success in Ligue 1.

At a time when the home side have recently dropped into fifth position in the standings, Lorient are four points clear of the relegation zone with seven matches remaining.

We say: Nice 2-0 Lorient

After losing their way recently, Nice are not as clear-cut favourites for this game as you would necessarily. Nevertheless, we still expect the home side to get back on track, maybe with a goal in each half and a clean sheet to boot.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Metz vs. Clermont (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Bottom-placed Metz head into Sunday's contest with Clermont knowing that victory could prove pivotal come the end of the season.

The home side sit five points adrift of their next opponents in the standings, and a win may move them to within two points of safety.

We say: Metz 1-1 Clermont

In the context of their respective campaigns, this is a huge fixture for both clubs. Metz will feel obliged to make most of the running as they look to take advantage of a winnable fixture, but we feel that Clermont will do enough to earn a potentially-important share of the spoils.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Montpellier vs. Reims (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Having both lost back-to-back Ligue 1 matches, mid-table rivals Montpellier HSC and Reims meet at Stade de la Mosson on Sunday in search of their first victory for a month.

Before they convene by the Mediterranean, the teams - who played out an entertaining 3-3 draw earlier this season - respectively occupy 11th and 13th place in the standings.

We say: Montpellier HSC 1-0 Reims

While Montpellier have fared well enough on home soil this term, Reims have been unable to make much of an impact on the road - winning just four of 16 away matches and scoring at a rate of less than one goal per game.

With little to divide them in terms of form or position in the Ligue 1 pecking order, that advantage could be the deciding factor which sees the home side end their winless run against Sunday's visitors.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Nantes vs. Angers (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Meeting in a Loire derby at Stade de la Beaujoire, mid-table Nantes and struggling Angers return to Ligue 1 action on Sunday.

Having both secured draws last weekend, the ninth-placed hosts lead their visitors by 13 points in the standings and will hope for a repeat of September's 4-1 win in the reverse fixture.

We say: Nantes 2-1 Angers

Nantes can give their unlikely push for the top six a boost by adding three more points to an impressive tally, as they have already won nine of their 15 home fixtures and represent a tough nut to crack at Stade de la Beaujoire.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Troyes vs. Strasbourg (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Aiming to bounce back from their first defeat in five, Troyes take on top four contenders Strasbourg at Stade de l'Aube on Sunday.

While the hosts were beaten by Monaco and remain in need of points to secure their Ligue 1 status, last week's draw with Lyon keeps their visitors on the coat-tails of the top three.

We say: Troyes 0-1 Strasbourg

They have not been finding the net on a frequent basis lately, but the sheer solidity of Strasbourg under Julien Stephan means that another Ligue 1 shut-out is probable this weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Lyon vs. Bordeaux (Sunday, 4.05pm)

Lyon will aim to immediately recover from their Europa League disappointment when Ligue 1 strugglers Bordeaux pay a visit to the Groupama Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Peter Bosz's side were knocked out of continental competition by West Ham United in midweek, while Les Girondins gave their survival hopes a mammoth boost by seeing off Metz.

We say: Lyon 2-1 Bordeaux

Bordeaux's bid for survival has started to gather a bit of momentum in the past couple of weeks, and if Lyon's showing against West Ham is anything to go by, a shock triumph for Les Girondins cannot be ruled out.

Bosz's side rarely end up on the wrong end of a home scoreline in Ligue 1, though, and a refreshed set of attacking options should possess the necessary firepower to propel Les Gones to a confidence-boosting win, but it should not be the walk in the park that the table would suggest.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

PSG vs. Marseille (Sunday, 7.45pm)

The 102nd instalment of Le Classique takes place at the Parc des Princes between the two leading sides in Ligue 1 on Sunday as Paris Saint-Germain renew hostilities with Marseille.

Mauricio Pochettino's side taught Clermont a footballing lesson in a 6-1 win last time out, while the visitors arrive having just booked their spot in the Europa Conference League semi-finals.

We say: Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 Marseille

Marseille's remarkable winning run is something to behold, and they have refused to let the European fatigue affect them thus far; giving their impassioned fanbase genuine belief that a famous Parc des Princes victory could be on the cards.

While Les Olympiens continue to produce the goods on the road, PSG have been largely unplayable at home, are well-rested and are witnessing their front three combine just as they had dreamt of, so we can only back Pochettino's side to take one more step towards the crown and end Marseille's streak of victories.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.
