Laurent Blanc: 'We only played for 45 minutes'

Laurent Blanc says that Paris Saint-Germain 'only played for 45 minutes' in their 4-1 victory over Nantes.

Despite registering a 4-1 victory over Nantes, Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc has criticised his side for 'only playing for 45 minutes'.

The French champions found themselves a goal down at half time, but second-half strikes from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani, Angel di Maria and Serge Aurier ensured that they emerged as comfortable victors.

Nonetheless, Blanc has revealed how he told his players at the break that it "was not worth" taking the field for the second half if they were going to repeat their performance from the first 45 minutes.

"We will only analyse the second half because we were not there in the first," Blanc told Infosport+ "We only played 45 minutes.

"At half time, we said that if we came back with the same state of mind, it was not worth it to go back, we could take a shower and go to Paris.

"There is no specific answer. In football, when you do not put the commitment when you are not focused, you have this this kind of half-time.

"But there are still some questions to ask yourself to understand why nothing was done in the first period.

The win maintains PSG's four-point cushion at the top of Ligue 1.
