Nene: 'Montpellier match will not decide title'

Brazilian winger Nene has talked-up this Sunday's crunch top-of-the-table clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Montpellier.

Paris Saint-Germain winger Nene has said that Sunday's Ligue 1 encounter with Montpellier HSC has "enormous importance".

The top two clash at the Parc des Princes in what could prove to be a pivotal match in the French league season.

PSG lead their rivals by just one point with 15 games remaining.

"Sunday's game is a decisive one against a direct rival for the title and we're playing at home," said the Brazilian. "Given the standings, the match has enormous importance.

"Montpellier are playing excellent football. They are a balanced and very solid team, especially in defence. Montpellier have all the qualities to play for the title and they prove it each weekend.

"At the moment, they're our main rivals for the championship so Sunday will be a massive match for us. This is the hardest match, but the meeting will not decide the title or who will play the Champions League."

Nene, 30, joined PSG from Monaco in 2010 for a reported fee of €5.5million (£4.5million).
