Paris Saint-Germain move three points clear

PSG move three points clear at the top of Ligue 1 with a 3-0 win over 10-man Brest.

Paris Saint-Germain have moved three points clear at the top of Ligue 1 courtesy of a 3-0 win over 10-man Brest this evening.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the visitors' biggest danger in the opening stages, threatening three times in as many minutes, but each time the defence was equal to his efforts.

Alexis Thebaux was called into action twice in quick succession in the 22nd minute when he denied Thiago Silva from a corner, only to see the ball fall to Ibrahimovic, but the keeper recovered well to save for a second time.

Brest's chances took a blow just after the half-hour mark when Abdou Sissoko was given his marching orders for a late lunge on Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Thebaux came to his side's rescue again two minutes after the restart, this time denying Christophe Jallet.

The visitors finally found the breakthrough in the 54th minute when Jallet found a way down the right before sending a cross in that Ibrahimovic steered in at the near post.

This lead was doubled 20 minutes later when Kevin Gameiro picked up a loose ball inside the box to slam his side 2-0 ahead.

The match was put beyond any doubt in the 91st minute as Bernard Mendy diverted the ball into his own net when trying to block Jallet's cross.
