President: 'Laurent Blanc staying at Paris Saint-Germain'

President Nasser Al-Khelaifi stresses that Laurent Blanc's job as Paris Saint-Germain head coach is not under threat, despite links with Jose Mourinho.

Laurent Blanc will remain the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain next season, according to president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

It was claimed that the 50-year-old's position had come under threat after failing to guide the club beyond the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the third campaign running.

That speculation intensified further last week following the suggestion that Jose Mourinho had been approached to replace Blanc in the summer.

However, Al-Khelaifi has insisted that the French champions will keep faith with the ex-Manchester United defender.

"The contract was extended for two years, he will stay with us next year. When we lose, we lose. It is a collective responsibility," he told reporters.

Blanc has been in charge at the Parc des Princes since June 2013.
