Thiago Motta has signed a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain to remain with the current French champions until the end of the 2016-17 season.
The Italian had been linked with a return to Atletico Madrid after failing to agree a new deal at Parc des Princes, but contract talks have continued throughout the summer.
In a brief statement, the Ligue 1 leaders confirmed that the midfielder's new agreement adds a further year to his deal with the side.
Motta, who joined PSG from Inter Milan in 2012, has won three league titles during his spell with the club.
