Thiago Motta open to Atletico Madrid return

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta wants a return to Atletico Madrid this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta has revealed that he would be interested in re-joining Atletico Madrid this summer.

The Italian international will leave PSG in this transfer window after recently claiming that he wants to "start a new cycle".

A number of clubs have been linked with the 32-year-old, but Atletico are said to be leading the race for the midfielder.

"Atletico Madrid? For me it would be just as motivating [as rejoining Inter Milan], I would give anything to do what I failed to do the first time because of injuries," Motta told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Motta joined Atletico from Barcelona in 2007, but made just six league appearances for the capital outfit due to a knee problem.
