Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Queens Park Rangers and Leicester City at Loftus Road.

Both teams are in desperate need of the three points this afternoon to alleviate the growing pressure on their respective managers. Harry Redknapp's side are currently bottom of the Premier League with eight points from their 12 matches this season, while Nigel Pearson's men have 10 points from their 12 matches, but have failed to win any of their last seven games.

QPR have recorded two wins at Loftus Road this season against Sunderland and Aston Villa, and they will be looking to maintain their good form against the teams around them to dig themselves out of trouble. Joey Barton is adamant that they have to turn Loftus Road in a difficult place for sides to come.

He told the Daily Mail: "You've got to pick yourself up in this league very quickly. We've been very good at home recently. That's got to be the priority for us - turning Loftus Road into a fortress and making it a difficult place for teams to come to."

The Foxes have had a difficult last two months in the Premier League after making a bright start to their campaign, which did include a 5-3 victory over Manchester United at the King Power Stadium. However, since then they have yet to record a win in a run that has lasted seven matches.

Leicester boss Pearson has admitted that his side have struggled to adjust to life in the top flight. He told the club's official website: "It's never easy to make that adjustment from being a side that's used to winning games and the expectation surrounding that. When you're not doing well and not winning games it's a different type of pressure. I think it has been a difficult adjustment."

LEICESTER STARTING XI: Schmeichel, De Laet, Konchesky, Morgan, James, Vardy, Schlupp, Cambiasso, Ulloa, Mahrez, Wasilewski

Redknapp has made three changes to his side that lost 1-0 to Newcastle United last week. Mauricio Isla, Eduardo Vargas and Niko Kranjcar all come into the team at the expense of Richard Dunne, Bobby Zamora and Sandro. The Brazilian midfielder is out due to injury, which Redknapp admitted was major blow for his side.

The Foxes are unchanged from their 0-0 draw with Sunderland last time out. Leonardo Ulloa continues to lead the line with Jamie Vardy in an expected 4-4-2 formation with Riyad Mahrez and Jeffrey Schlupp operating on the flanks. Esteban Cambiasso and Matty James are expected to occupy the two central midfield positions this afternoon.

Leicester will want a good performance from Ulloa this afternoon as their form has dropped off with his inability to find the net. The 28-year-old scored five goals in his first five games for the club following his £7m move from Brighton & Hove Albion, but has failed to score since September, in his side's win over Manchester United.

The form of Charlie Austin has been just as crucial to the R's this season as his three goals against Sunderland and Aston Villa were the difference between six points or two for Redknapp's men. The 25-year-old has notched six goals for the club this season, and a good performance this afternoon will be needed from him if QPR are to push themselves out of the relegation zone.

A quick look at the options on the bench for both sides and Rio Ferdinand has recovered enough from a groin injury should Redknapp need him this afternoon. Junior Hoilett, Matt Phillips and Shaun Wright-Phillips are the attacking options, who should provide a lot of pace for the home side.

Leicester have David Nugent on the bench, who will be looking to haunt one of his former managers as he played for Redknapp during his days at Portsmouth. Andy King and Anthony Knockaert provide creative options from midfield should the Foxes need their services this afternoon.

STAT ATTACK! QPR have conceded the opening goal in nine of their 12 matches in the Premier League this season. The only games they haven't have been their wins over Sunderland and Villa, and in their 2-2 draw against Manchester City.

PUNDIT TIME! Here's what Sports Mole's pundits believe will happen at Loftus Road this afternoon.

PREDICTION! This game has all the hallmarks of a scrappy affair as both sides are low in confidence heading into the clash. Leicester have failed to score in 500 minutes of football, but could have chances to exploit the R's on the break this afternoon, while the threat of Austin is a potent one for the home side. I don't expect this game to finish 0-0, so I'm going to go for a 2-1 victory for Redknapp's men.

The players are out on the pitch and we should be underway shortly.

KICKOFF! We're underway at Loftus Road.

A long ball upfield tests the composure of Onuoha at the back as he is involved in a foot race with Vardy, but the centre-back copes with the threat of the striker as he calmly plays the ball back to Green.

Leicester hit the back of the net for the first time in 500 minutes and as Cambiasso drills the ball into the bottom corner with the aid of the post. Schlupp started the move down the left as he raided down the left and teed up Ulloa in the box. The striker was brought down and a penalty may have been awarded, if the ball hadn't fallen to the Argentine, who fired the ball into the net.

QPR have a chance to hit back almost immediately as Morgan brings down Fer just outside the box and the home side have a free kick in a dangerous position.

CHANCE! Kranjcar's free kick takes a deflection and goes inches over the bar with Schmeichel scrambling across his goalline. Another chance to threaten from a corner for the home side.

CHANCE! Fer should head his side back into the match but he can't direct his effort on target as the ball is cleared away from the goalline by the Foxes defence. The Dutchman had a free header and he really should have done better in that situation.

CHANCE! Leicester hit the visitors on the break and Vardy raids upfield down the left and slides the ball into the feet of Schlupp. The winger decides to take the shot on first time, but he skews his effort past the post.

The home side are seeing a lot of the ball in the final third of the pitch and Kranjcar decides to shoot from distance, but his effort is blocked into the path of Isla. The right-back also decides to try his luck with a strike, and his effort is closer as it is deflected just past the post.

Yun Suk-young lets his side down from the resulting corner as the ball drops to his feet following a clearance from the visitors, but his strike sails well over the bar.

Green has to react quickly to scramble off his line as a simple ball over the top of the defence has Vardy through on gola, but the keeper gets to the ball just in time to take the ball away from the forward.

CHANCE! Mahrez should put his side two goals in front as he somehow fails to make good contact with the ball from close range after latching onto Vardy's low cross into the area. The striker had done well again down the right to get in behind the defence, and he forced a ball into the midfielder's path, but Mahrez scuffed his effort under pressure from Caulker.

CHANCE! Henry weaves his way into the box and beats one defender, then another and has the chance to shoot at goal, but he delays his shot and the Foxes eventually get numbers back to force him wide. The chance is still open for the R's if they can produce a quality ball into the box, but the delivery is poor from Henry and it allows the visitors to clear.

Leicester are using the ball well in midfield as Cambiasso is pulling all the strings with short accurate passes. Vardy and Schlupp are doing an excellent job of stretching the pitch with runs into the channels, as Ulloa is pulling defenders to him by coming short. Good start by Pearson's men.

Vardy is having an excellent game so far this afternoon as he troubles Onuoha as he puts the defender under immense pressure with feet of his own box. The defender manages to release the ball to Green who clears downfield, but the Foxes are not giving the home side an inch anywhere on the field this afternoon.

A long ball over the top of the Leicester defence finds Austin in space, but De Laet races back at him and immediately exerts pressure on the striker. Austin tries to find a teammate, but the defender wins the ball with ease and clears the danger.

CHANCE! A ball into the channel down the left finds the run of Fer, who cuts the ball back to Austin, but his strike is well blocked by Morgan. The ball goes out to Henry, who passes the ball with pace into the box for a teammate to attack, but Vargas decides not to throw a foot at the ball and it goes just wide of the post.

The home side are really starting to up the ante and Isla is able to find space down the right to dig out a cross. The right-back's ball finds Vargas in the middle, and he tries to carve out an opening for a shot. The striker eventually does shoot, but his strike is well blocked by a posse of players in red.

Leicester alleviate the pressure on their backline as they raid forward in numbers. Vardy pushes into the box and has the option of releasing of Schlupp, but his pass is poor and QPR can clear their lines.

The visitors work the ball down the left after a neat interchange of passing between Schlupp and James, which releases the run of Konchesky, but the left-back's cross into the box is poor as the ball sails well over the bar.

CHANCE! QPR push forward and a cross into the box from the right falls kindly into the path of Caulker who blasts the ball at goal, but Morgan is on hand to make a crucial block.

QPR are back in the game and it's a huge error from Morgan as he diverts the ball into his own net on the goalline as he attempted to clear Fer's cross away from the danger. Austin was lurking behind him, but the defender should have done better than that with the clearance.

CHANCE! Leicester almost retake the lead immediately from the kickoff as Cambiasso threads a through ball into the path of Vardy, who races through on goal. The striker fires a low effort on target, but Green races off his line to make the block and keep his side level. An important block from the keeper.

Leicester work the ball well in the final third of the pitch again and Mahrez is able to dig out a cross into the middle. The cross is decent and finds Ulloa in the box, who outleaps the challenge of Onuoha, but he can only guide his header over the crossbar.

YELLOW CARD! Yun Suk-young goes into the book for a challenge on Mahrez.

QRP take the lead right on the stroke of half time as a cross from the right finds Austin in the box, his header is brilliantly saved by Schmeichel, but the rebound falls into the path of Fer who smashes the ball into the back of the net from close range.

There will be two minutes of added time.

Leicester will be kicking themselves for going into the break trailing the home side after having the better of the first half, but an own goal from Wes Morgan and a strike from Leroy Fer have handed Redknapp's men the lead at Loftus Road.

The R's did up the ante late in the half and had a few good chances to find the net, but looked tentative in the final third until Morgan bundled the ball into his own net. From then on the home side smelled blood and duly took the lead when Fer smashed the ball in. Pearson will be furious as his team have looked good pushing forward, but weren't strong enough when it mattered most at the back.

On the positive side of things for Leicester they have looked very threatening in the final third of the pitch, with Vardy especially active. The striker did have an excellent chance to fire his side back in front after Morgan had score the own goal, but he failed to beat Green. If that had been a goal, it would be a different story at the break.

The R's have an early chance to threaten as they win a corner down the left, which is cleared behind by Wasilewski. The second corner comes in and Schmeichel fails to gather the ball before it falls to Barton on the edge of the area, who fires his strike well over the bar.

OFF THE BAR! Leicester come within inches of getting an equaliser as Vardy's header clatters off the crossbar and bounces over the bar after he latched onto Mahrez's cross the right. Mahrez had raided down the flank and fired a low shot at goal, which was well saved by Green, but the rebound was knocked back his way and his cross was pinpoint on the striker's head, but he was denied by the woodwork.

SUBSTITUTION: Yun Suk-young is replaced by Traore for the home side due to injury.

QPR push forward and the ball falls kindly to Austin just outside the area. The striker's effort takes a deflection and goes just past the post with Schmeichel scrambling across to his near post to ensure the ball didn't find the net.

From the resulting corner, Kranjcar's delivery into the box was decent and Onuoha rose highest in the area to head an effort at goal, but his strike was just over the bar.

CHANCE! Austin comes within inches of firing his side two goals in front as links up with Kranjcar in the final third to crack a strike on the half-volley at goal. However, Schmeichel is on hand to make a good diving save to push his effort past the post.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Nugent and Albrighton replace Ulloa and Mahrez for the visitors.

CHANCE! Leicester come close as Cambiasso catches the R's out from a free kick to release the run of Vardy down the side of the box, but the striker can't lift his effort over Green into the net as his strike hits the sidenetting. A golden chance for the Foxes to get back into the match.

The Foxes are back in the game as Schlupp finds the net with an absolute bullet of a strike as his left-footed volley from outside the box powers into the bottom corner. The midfielder set up the chance himself as his good work in the middle set up a crossing chance for Konchesky, which saw Albrighton see an effort well blocked by Caulker. However, the rebound fell to Schlupp who fired his side level.

CHANCE! Leicester could be ahead as the home side fail to clear their lines from a corner into the box. The ball comes back in from the left, and Cambiasso sees his powerful header blocked on the line by Barton, while Morgan on the follow-up can only poke his effort over the bar.

CHANCE! Barton raids forward into the final third and with little pressure on him he decides to shoot from distance. His strike is powerful on and threatens Schmeichel's net, but it goes inches past the post with the aid of a deflection.

CHANCE! What a save from Schmeichel as he makes an excellent reaction stop to beat away Fer's header at the back post from the resulting corner.

QPR take the lead as another delivery from Kranjar causes mayhem in the box. Nugent tries to clear the ball off the line from a Caulker header, but Austin shows his predatory instincts to head the ball home from close range to put his side ahead once more.

SUBSTITUTION: Vargas is replaced by Mutch for the home side.

Now it's Leicester's turn to try to up the ante to get back in the game. Schlupp raids down the left and hits a cross into the box, which isn't cleared convincingly by Green, but fortunately for the keeper the ball bounces the safety and eventually the ball is cleared.

Redknapp's men are doing their best to take the pace out of the game as they are doing their utmost to retain possession at Loftus Road. The crowd is really getting into the game to help their side out, as this would represent an important three points for the R's.

Break in play as Traore goes down with a head injury after clashing with Albrighton in the air.

Leicester catch the home side out with another quick free kick as Cambiasso plays in Albrighton down the right flank and the winger manages to win a corner.

QPR clear their lines from a corner and Kranjcar chases down the ball to put pressure on Schlupp to ease the pressure on his defence. A crucial last few minutes at Loftus Road.

Leicester waste a chance to put the home side under pressure as James's free kick fails to beat the first man. That was desperately poor from the midfielder.

Albrighton commits a silly foul as he tries to win the ball from Henry down the right flank. It allows the home side to run a lot more time off the clock and clear the ball downfield.

YELLOW CARDS! Albrighton and Green get booked for their part in the scuffle that followed the foul. Green charged out of his goal to confront the midfielder and was deservedly shown the card.

CHANCE! Leicester come within inches of getting an equaliser in the dying seconds of the game as Vardy escapes three defenders and teeds up James on the edge of the area. The midfielder fires a volley at goal, which goes inches over the crossbar.

QPR hold out to earn a vital win in their quest for survival as they move themselves off the bottom of the table as strikes from Austin, Fer and an own goal from Morgan hand them the victory at Loftus Road over the Foxes.

It was an excellent game of football and all three results were possible at all times during the match, but the home side had just enough to secure the win as they capitalised on defensive mistakes from the Foxes to secure their third win of the campaign. Pearson will be displeased with his side as they stretched their winless run in the top flight to eight matches, which could be a major worry as they have replaced the R's at the foot of the table.
