Charlie Austin targets Chelsea, Manchester City scalps

QPR hitman Charlie Austin hopes that his brace in the 2-0 win over Aston Villa can inspire Rangers to giant killings against Chelsea and Manchester City.

Charlie Austin believes that tonight's 2-0 win over Aston Villa can give Queens Park Rangers a timely confidence boost ahead of meetings with Chelsea and Manchester City.

Austin struck twice at Loftus Road to down the Villans and help Rangers stop the rot with a first victory since August after losing four of their last five outings.

Bigger tests lie ahead as QPR kick off November by facing both Premier League giants within a week of each other, but the striker insists that optimism is high after beating Villa.

"Scoring two in the Premier League - I'm over the moon but I couldn't do it without my team-mates," he told Sky Sports News.

"We've got two tough games coming up [away at Chelsea then home to Manchester City] but we go in to them now full of confidence."

Harry Redknapp's side face a London derby with Chelsea on Saturday, before travelling to Eastlands to take on the reigning champions seven days later.
