Mark Hughes says that QPR need to improve up front if they are to escape from relegation danger.

Mark Hughes has said that Queens Park Rangers need to improve in attack if they are to escape from relegation danger.

QPR suffered a 1-0 loss to Newcastle on Saturday, the 10th time that they have failed to score this season.

Hughes's first game in charge was marred by the R's dropping into the relegation zone.

"It's important we improve our goals column, that is hindering us," the Welshman said.

"With a bit more care we could have converted the chances we created."

QPR are 18th in the Premier League with 17 points from 21 games.
