Queens Park Rangers have made contact with Troyes boss Rui Almeida about becoming their next manager, according to a report.
The Championship side sacked Steve McClaren earlier this week following a poor run of form since Boxing Day, winning just one of their 16 games since then.
Football.London suggests that QPR have stepped up their search for a new boss by turning to Almeida, though they have so far only inquired as to his availability.
Almeida has worked with a small budget at Ligue 2 side Troyes, who have performed above expectation this season, currently sitting fifth and on course for a return to the top flight of French football.
The 49-year-old has previously worked as an assistant for Panathinaikos, Braga and Sporting Lisbon, and he was strongly linked with the Barnsley job last year.
