Preview: Queens Park Rangers vs. West Ham United

Sports Mole previews the London derby between Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United at Loftus Road.

Loftus Road has not been the happiness of hunting grounds for West Ham United in recent seasons.

The Hammers have failed to find the net on five of their last six visits to their London rivals. Furthermore, they have not taken maximum points from their last eight meetings in West London, losing six.

Reports have claimed that manager Sam Allardyce is considering handing Modibo Maiga his first Premier League start. Loanee midfielder Yossi Benayoun may also feature from the beginning.

Meanwhile, hosting QPR will be without four defenders for the clash. Hamstring injuries have ruled out Anton Ferdinand, Jose Bosingwa and Fabio, while Armand Traore has a leg problem.

Manager Mark Hughes may have Adel Taarabt available for selection after the playmaker recovered from a hamstring complaint.

With two points from their opening five matches, QPR are currently in the middle of their worst ever start to a Premier League campaign.
