QPR striker Charlie Austin 'not looking elsewhere' despite transfer speculation

Charlie Austin insists that he is not looking to join a new club this month amid doubts regarding his Queens Park Rangers contract situation.

Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin has insisted that he is not thinking about leaving Loftus Road amid concern over his long-term future.

The 25-year-old has 18 months left to run on his current contract and as he is yet to sign fresh terms, reports have claimed that the club's top scorer may look to leave.

To address speculation, Austin wrote in his Sportlobster blog: "I know some things have been written and said about my contract situation. I've got 18 months left on my contract, I'm in no rush.

"I'm leaving that stuff to my agent and the people at the club, and I'm just thinking about my performances on the pitch. The most important thing for you to know is that I'm not thinking about looking elsewhere. I want you all to know I'm happy at QPR."

Austin, who has scored 13 goals in the top flight so far this season, was named Premier League Player of the Month this morning.
