Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp had emphatically denied speculation linking him with a bid for Fulham captain Brede Hangeland.
Hangeland is out of contract at Craven Cottage this summer, leading to rumours of a January bid from the Hoops.
Redknapp has insisted that he has had no contact with Fulham and was not aware of the Norwegian defender's situation.
"I'm sure Martin Jol will be really pleased to hear that this morning," Redknapp sarcastically told reporters.
"It's the first I've heard of it. He's a good player but if I was interested I'd ring Martin or the chairman at Fulham.
"But I've made no approach for him. He's a top player at Fulham so I wouldn't think he'd be available to sign."
The Hoops have been linked with a number of January additions as Redknapp looks to build a squad capable of staying in the Premier League.
