Scottish Championship roundup: Hibernian put five past Cowdenbeath

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from the Scottish Championship where Hibernian hammer Cowdenbeath 5-0 at Easter Road.

Hibernian closed the gap to second-placed Rangers to five points with a comprehensive 5-0 win over Cowdenbeath at Easter Road this afternoon.

First-half strikes from Paul Hanlon and Jason Cummings put Hibs firmly in control, before a late flurry of goals from Scott Robertson, Callum Booth and Lewis Stevenson wrapped up the win.

Queen of the South, meanwhile, lost ground on Hibernian after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Falkirk.

Iain Russell rescued a point for James Fowler's side, who had Mark Durnan sent off midway through the second half, after a Rory Loy penalty had put Falkirk ahead on 16 minutes.

Goals from Ryan Conroy and Grant Anderson gave Raith Rovers a 2-1 win over Dumbarton, while Livingston's clash with Alloa Athletic fell foul of the weather.

Results in full: Falkirk 1-1 Queen of the South, Hibernian 5-0 Cowdenbeath, Livingston P-P Alloa Athletic, Raith Rovers 2-1 Dumbarton.
