Rangers boss Graeme Murty: 'We are a work in progress'

Rangers boss Graeme Murty says that his side are a work in progress after watching them win 5-3 at Hamilton Academical.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty has described his side as a "work in progress" after watching them win 5-3 at Hamilton Academical.

The Gers boss praised his players for their attacking prowess during the match, but admitted that "slackness" in possession led to them conceding soft goals.

"The first half was too much like a game of basketball. I'm pleased that we scored five goals, but our slackness in possession contributed to as many problems as chances created," Murty told Rangers TV.

"We need to get that nailed down. We can't have our good attacking work undone like that. It was too frantic at times.

"We're on the cusp of being really good. We do good work then undo it with a piece of slackness.

"This is still a work in progress, a team with a long way to go."

The victory sees Rangers climb to second place in the Scottish Premiership thanks to their superior goal difference over Aberdeen, with Celtic nine points ahead in first.
