Rangers delisted from Stock Exchange

Rangers fail to appoint a new nominated advisor before the deadline set by the AIM Stock Exchange, meaning that they have now been delisted.

Rangers have been delisted from the AIM Stock Exchange as a result of failing to secure the services of a new nominated advisor.

Trading in the company's shares, listed publicly as Rangers International Football Club plc, had initially been suspended last month following the resignation of nominated advisor WH Ireland.

The new board have failed to appoint a new nomad before the deadline, which the Scottish Championship club blames on the previous regime in charge.

"It is simply the result of the well-documented failings in corporate governance and management of those who previously controlled the company," a club statement read.

"During the course of the last month, the new board of directors has been working hard, to a tight timescale, with a prospective new nomad to complete an appointment. Unfortunately, it has become apparent that this will not be possible."

Interim chairman Paul Murray now intends to have the company listed on the ISDX market instead.
