A Rangers supporter has died after falling ill while watching today's match against Berwick at Ibrox.

The man, who was in his 50s, left the stadium in an ambulance at around 3.30pm and was taken to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, where he later passed away.

A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said: "A postmortem exam will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however there are no suspicious circumstances."

Midfielder David Templeton, who was on the scoresheet as Rangers ran out as 4-2 winners, tweeted: "So sad to hear about the fan who passed away at the game. Thoughts go out to the family and friends."
